Why Businesses Should Invest in Instagram

Instagram usage has dramatically changed from a mere teenage thing to a formidable business application with a huge potential.

Social media management for exceptional companies

It is no secret that Instagram is one of the most influential social media applications, rivaling Facebook and Twitter with its uniqueness and ease of usage. To businesses, it offers excellent marketing opportunity, because of its wide reach and more importantly, its compelling visual content.

Not many businesses have discovered that they can use Instagram to market their services and products. Statistics indicate that a majority of businesses use Facebook, making it difficult for startups to make a notable impression in the world’s most popular social networking platform. Since it is relatively new in the market, Instagram offers small businesses and startups a unique opportunity of building and establishing their audience before it becomes too difficult to get traction.

Market research findings indicate that clients are increasingly being attracted to visual content. This is one of the most unique strengths that it has over its rivals. A growing number of consumers want to see businesses posting photos, videos, and images of their services and products. In fact visual content enhances client-product interaction in e-commerce more than any other medium. This implies that Instagram can effectively augment a brand using visual application, thereby enhancing its online visibility.

Instagram is linked with Facebook the world’s largest and most popular social media platform. This implies that posting visual content on it generates shares on Facebook. To a business, this presents a great opportunity for marketing your brand.

Although making direct sales is not usually the main objective of business to use social media, it won’t hurt to convert a brand impression on social media to a sale. Findings from Shopify indicate that Instagram users have one of the highest conversation rates among the social networking platforms. To a business, it implies that being on this social media site increases the possibility of making sales besides marketing your brand.

This gives me something to think about. I have an Instagram account, but lean heavily towards Facebook. However, one of my most viewed post was one that I originally posted on Instagram and then shared on Facebook. I will definitely be using Instagram more in the new year.
